Your Options

With five different options to choose from there is a package to suit all budgets and tastes.

Scroll up to click on the package you are interested in and the price chart will open up, showing you all of the available accommodation types as well as the various prices for single, double/twin, triple and quad share.

In a few instances it is possible to accommodate up to five people on one booking (Emu Walk 2 Bed-roomed apartments or Sails in the Desert Superior rooms only).

Please Note: There is no ‘entry only’ option for the Australian Outback Marathon.

All prices are on a “per person” basis.
Unless you are a Yulara resident, you MUST purchase a package either with or without accommodation.
A child is considered to be between the ages of 3 and 12 years inclusive at the time of check-in
Children 2 years and under are FREE OF CHARGE if using existing bedding
Children requiring a rollaway bed will incur an additional $48 per night charge
Adults who are not participating in one of the Australian Outback Marathon events receive a $100 discount off the price of the adult package
All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD)
Extra Night price is per adult staying in the room

For those choosing a “No Accommodation” package

Please ensure that you check the itineraries at the registration marquee for itinerary details
There will be no notice board provided at the Ayers Rock Campground – please check the itineraries at the registration marquee if you choose to stay at the Ayers Rock Campground
Breakfast is included on Friday morning for the Platinum, Diamond and Silver packages for those on a "No Accommodation" package.
Breakfast is NOT included on any other day, including Race Day.
All evening meals are included as per your itinerary with the exception of Saturday.
If you choose to stay at the camp-ground, your pick-up point for all tours will be at the Outback Hotel and Lodge lobby

Important Note: If you choose a “No Accommodation” package and have booked your own accommodation, please ensure you have notified us prior to your arrival. Otherwise your pick-up point for all tours will be at the Outback Hotel and Lodge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the date of the race?

The Australian Outback Marathon will always be held on the last Saturday in July. The dates for the next few years are:

2026 – 25 July
2027 – 31 July
2028 – 29 July

Can I simply enter the Australian Outback Marathon without purchasing a package?

Entries to the Australian Outback Marathon are only available as part of a Package and there are no “Entry Only” options available.

What are the different distances that comprise the Australian Outback Marathon?

There are four different events for you to choose from, and each different event will have its signage colour-coded according to the distance

Marathon – signs will be RED
Half Marathon – signs will be BLACK
11km Fun Run/Walk – signs will be BLUE
6km Fun Run/Walk – signs will be GREEN

We strongly encourage ALL participants to get involved in one of the events

Are there age restrictions for any of the events?

The 6km fun run/walk and the 11km fun run/walk are open to all ages.
To participate in the Half-Marathon you must be aged 15 years or older on race day. To participate in the Marathon you must be 18 years or older on race day.

What time do the events start?

The Marathon and Half-Marathon will both start at approximately 7:45am.
The 11km fun run and 6km fun run will start at approximately 8:30am

Where do I pick up my race pack?

Your race pack will be available for you on either Thursday or Friday, depending on when you arrive at the Ayers Rock Resort.

We will have a specially dedicated Australian Outback Marathon reception area setup on the grass near the Town Square between 2pm and 4pm each day, allowing you to check in to your hotel and then collect your race pack at your leisure.

NOTE: for all activities that are included in your itinerary you MUST be in possession of your wrist band which you will receive when you pick up your race-pack. This includes all tours, transfers (other than upon your arrival), all meals (including resort breakfast) and transfers to and from the race start/finish area.

If you are unable to collect your race pack prior to your included functions, please be assured that we will make provisions for you so that you don’t miss out on any included functions. If you have elected to purchase a “No Accommodation” package, please ensure that you have notified us of your accommodation choice NO LATER than the first Friday in July.

It is mandatory that all guests collect their race pack prior to race day.

If you choose to stay at the camp-ground, your pick-up point for all tours will be at the Outback Pioneer Hotel lobby

How will the Marathon, Half-marathon, 11km and 6km races be signed?

All events will have distance markers at every kilometre. In addition, each kilometre sign will also have the distance in miles on the sign. Also, the entire course will be clearly marked with “arrowed” signage to ensure that you will always know which way to go when out on the course.

Each different event will have its signage colour-coded according to the distance

The Australian Outback Marathon team look after everyone so well. whether you are a competitor or a supporter you will have a wonderful time. Every detail is covered and staff are available from the time of booking to the event to assist you. What a way to meet new friends, see Uluru, immerse your self in indigenous culture and run a marathon. Wow....all experiences were exceptional. Dont know how you achieve the setting up! Inclusions of both lamb and barramundi were unexpected but delicious. Plenty of vegetables for healthy meals. Also to have drinks included on last night was a wonderful bonus As a spectator/ supporter we had a wonderful experience. Race day enabled us to feel really connected to and part of the event. We were kept warm, entertained and fed and we loved cheering competitors across the finish line. Thankyou

I've run in events all around Australia and The Australian Outback Marathon is a MUST for any Aussie runner or travelling runners looking for a uniquely Australian event. travelling fit organised amazing packages and were instrumental in making this trip AMAZING. The entry process was made easy, from initial booking, package upgrades (I upgraded a couple of months after booking) transfers, dinners and tours. I particularly loved the way the team embraced the local culture and guides shared local stories. I don't usually run events multiple times, but this one may be an exception.

After years of running other distances, my husband and i wanted to sign up for our first full marathon. The Australian Outback Marathon had been on my bucket list for almost a decade, and we decided to go for it and book a package. Yulara and the surrounding landscape is stunningly beautiful and this experience allowed us to reconnect with nature in a pretty special way. I love all of the larger city races, but this event was truly exceptional. I wish Every aussie runner could have the experience of racing with the red earth beneath their feet. Uluru really does feel like the heart of Australia, and It was certainly a highlight of the course. Every gathering, from the carb loading dinner, to race day, and the final celebration dinner was so much fun. We enjoyed mingling with our fellow runners and making new memories. The celebration dinner was a standout moment and perfect way to conclude the weekend. Overall, this trip reminded me how lucky we are to live in this beautiful country. Book this trip if you’re thinking about it. You won’t regret it!

Hi to the whole Travelling Fit Team Just wanted to say thank you for THE most amazing experience at the Australian Outback Marathon. Both Tina and I were blown away by the scenery, the attention to detail, amazing food and how well everything was coordinated. I have travelled extensively around the world and I would say the Outback was the most amazing experience of them all. A great combination of mind blowing scenery, the indigenous spirituality, the great hikes and the run itself. The attention to detail- having heaters at the start line, wheelie bins in the middle of no where so the landscape is preserved as just a couple of examples. And as for food- we ate like Kings- barramundi, steak, the best lamb cutlets, buffets. Well done everyone. Can’t wait to book another trip. Many thanks

Both myself and my partner Hannah had such an enjoyable experience. The hotel was in a perfect location both for the race and to explore the city. Super thankful for the pre and post race dinners offered in the package, as well as the opportunity to bring a supporter along. As a graduate of the Indigenous Marathon Project, I am deeply grateful for the relationship the foundation has with Travelling Fit and being given the opportunity to chase my goal of completing the Six World Majors. The Australian Outback Marathon had been on my bucket list for a few years. I was so pleased I was able to sneak away between lockdowns and spend 6 days with the Travelling Fit team and the group of happy runners I met there. I absolutely loved the marathon. It was hot, it was sandy, it was stunning, it was peaceful, it was challenging, it was cathartic, it was everything I dreamed it would be and more. Combined with the marathon, all the activities and tours over the 6 days made it the complete package of what a holiday should be. I could not recommend this trip more highly. Well organised, great new running friends, stunning scenery and memories that will last forever. Thank you!

If you only get a chance to run one race then this is the one to do, it should be on everyone's bucket list. We were told before the run to take time to enjoy the run and stop to take photos and look around and enjoy it, this is something I have never done on a run before but it was the best advice ever.

Frank and I had the most magical time during the AOM. Incredible views no matter which way you looked, Great accommodation, the way the AOM's incredibly experienced team just 'made' things happen. The Tours, especially the Kings Canyon tour, create those never to be forgotten' memories that stay etched in us - as does the red earth course we traversed during the event. Thank you so much 'Team AOM' for this fabulous experience.
