Each itinerary comes with its own unique set of inclusions, meals and tours (tours are optional on the Red Earth Package). For your convenience we have created a printable document detailing the daily activities that can be found on each of the different packages.
Each itinerary can also be booked as a “No Accommodation” option, allowing you to organise your own accommodation or alternatively to make use of the camping facilities.
Please Note: For the “No Accommodation” options, breakfast is not included with the exception of the Platinum, Diamond and Silver itineraries when a breakfast backpack will be given to everyone going on the “Uluru Sunrise and Basewalk” tour on Friday 30 July.
With five different options to choose from there is a package to suit all budgets and tastes.
The Platinum Itinerary sees you arriving on the Thursday prior to the race. Your first introduction to Uluru will be at our hosted “warm up” run on Thursday afternoon – a great way to meet new friends and introduce your running shoes to the Red Earth of Central Australia. A hosted welcome dinner is also included. On Friday you will see the Sunrise over Uluru followed by a full Base Walk Tour. In the afternoon is our welcome ceremony, followed by our exclusive Carbo Load evening dinner. Saturday is Race Day, and Sunday sees you off to Kata Tjuta to explore the Valley of the Winds. In the evening is our Celebration Dinner under the stars, based on the award-winning Sounds of Silence experience. Your Monday excursion takes you to Kings Canyon for the day to create more lifetime memories, and your tour ends on Tuesday.
The Diamond Itinerary sees you arriving on the Thursday prior to the race. Your first introduction to Uluru will be at our hosted “warm up” run on Thursday afternoon – a great way to meet new friends and introduce your running shoes to the Red Earth of Central Australia. A hosted welcome dinner is also included. On Friday you will see the Sunrise over Uluru followed by a full Base Walk Tour. In the afternoon is our welcome ceremony, followed by our exclusive Carbo Load evening dinner. Saturday is Race Day, and Sunday allows you to either relax or join one of our optional tours. In the evening is our Celebration Dinner under the stars, based on the award-winning Sounds of Silence experience. Your tour ends on Monday after creating new friends and lifetime memories.
The Gold Itinerary sees you arriving on the Friday prior to the race, just in time for the race briefing and our Carbo-Load evening dinner. Saturday is Race Day, with lunch included for all participants and supporters. Sunday allows you to either relax or join one of our optional tours. In the evening is our Celebration Dinner under the stars, based on the award-winning Sounds of Silence experience. Your tour ends on Monday after creating new friends and lifetime memories.
The Silver Itinerary sees you arriving on the Thursday prior to the race. Your first introduction to Uluru will be at our hosted “warm up” run on Thursday afternoon – a great way to meet new friends and introduce your running shoes to the Red Earth of Central Australia. A hosted welcome dinner is also included. On Friday you will see the Sunrise over Uluru followed by a full Base Walk Tour. In the afternoon is our welcome ceremony, followed by our exclusive Carbo Load evening dinner. Saturday is Race Day, and your trip to Uluru and the Australian Outback Marathon ends on Sunday.
The Red Earth Itinerary sees you arriving on the Friday prior to the race. In the afternoon is our welcome ceremony, followed by our exclusive Carbo Load evening dinner. Saturday is Race Day with lunch included for runners and supporters, and your trip to Uluru and the Australian Outback Marathon ends on Sunday.
The Australian Outback Marathon will always be held on the last Saturday in July. The dates for the next few years are:
Entries to the Australian Outback Marathon are only available as part of a Package and there are no “Entry Only” options available.
There are four different events for you to choose from

The 6km fun run/walk and the 11km fun run/walk are open to all ages.
To participate in the Half-Marathon you must be aged 15 years or older on race day. To participate in the Marathon you must be 18 years or older on race day.

Your race pack will be available for you on either Thursday or Friday, depending on when you arrive at the Ayers Rock Resort.
We will have a specially dedicated Australian Outback Marathon reception area setup on the grass near the Town Square between 2pm and 4pm each day, allowing you to check in to your hotel and then collect your race pack at your leisure.
NOTE: for all activities that are included in your itinerary you MUST be in possession of your wrist band which you will receive when you pick up your race-pack. This includes all tours, transfers (other than upon your arrival), all meals (including resort breakfast) and transfers to and from the race start/finish area.
If you are unable to collect your race pack prior to your included functions, please be assured that we will make provisions for you so that you don’t miss out on any included functions. If you have elected to purchase a “No Accommodation” package, please ensure that you have notified us of your accommodation choice NO LATER than the first Friday in July.
It is mandatory that all guests collect their race pack prior to race day.
All events will have distance markers at every kilometre. In addition, each kilometre sign will also have the distance in miles on the sign. Also, the entire course will be clearly marked with “arrowed” signage to ensure that you will always know which way to go when out on the course.
Each different event and corresponding bib will have its signage colour-coded according to the distance
