Australian Outback Marathon – Training Required
Race Day is 28 July, 2012 So Start Training Now!
Whether you are running the full marathon, half marathon, 11km or 6km, training is in order! The Australian Outback Marathon is predominantly an off-road course. The route varies from packed fire-trails, graded roads and soft sand through to sealed bitumen roads. Although the variety of surfaces makes the Australian Outback Marathon a unique experience for runners of all abilities it is not a particularly difficult course to run. This is due to the fact that the course itself is relatively flat and the fire-trails and tracks that make up the course are very well maintained.
Whatever training schedule you choose to follow it should reflect your personal goals for the event, whether that be a specific finishing time, to run for a certain distance before walking, or simply to finish.
The Australian Outback Marathon has been created to give runners at every level the opportunity to run in one of Australia’s, and indeed the World’s most iconic places so, whatever your goals and aspirations are for the event, remember to enjoy the genuine beauty that is the Australian Outback.
